Dear fellow travelers,

It is with both sadness and joy that I tell you that Scotty passed  away about half an hour ago. (A little after 3:00 p.m. eastern time.)

It was a good, peaceful passing... George Moskoff and Phil Mirvis had  just gone downstairs and Kathy was with Scotty alone.  She was  describing to him the beautiful light streaming through the tree by  his bedroom window, and telling him what a light he has been to so  many.  She then felt moved to recite The Lord's Prayer, and at the  end, Scotty took one last deep breath and that was all.  Very  peaceful...

In the past few weeks Scotty was blessed to have a multitude of  visitors come through.  He loved seeing every one, and everyone's warm thoughts and prayers meant so very much to him.

I will remember Scotty for all the parts which comprised him, which included his loving warmth, his erudite intelligence, and perhaps most of all, for all the ways in which his own life embodied one of  his favorite topics: paradox.  In fact, years from now, I wouldn't be surprised if when I look up "paradox" in the dictionary, they just  might have along with the definition, a picture of M. Scott Peck!

At this point in time
, I cannot tell you anything about funeral plans, etc.  As more information becomes available, I am sure it will  be shared.

(This was passed to us  via an e-mail group based in the U.S.A, - September 2005)
